Our expert local guide will host your overnight stay, providing a tour of the island, hosting a true Aussie BBQ and sharing their stories of this unique harbour island.
Soak up the sunset and sunrise over the famous harbour city, for an experience you will never forget.
Start the day by meeting your local guide in the Sydney Urban Adventures office.
We'll then set foot for the Sydney Observatory, Sydney's highest natural landmark. where we will take in the view and hear the stories of Sydney's Harbour Islands. We then make our way down to Circular Quay to catch a ferry across to Cockatoo Island, for an evening of camping and gazing at the city lights and stars. We set up camp in pre-erected tents then enjoy an Aussie BBQ dinner and share more stories with our local guide.
After dinner, we take a guided tour of the island, which is a former convict prison and shipyard, and these days spends much of it’s time as a movie and film set for films such as Wolverine and the popular Australian dram Water Rats.
After the tour, the rest of the evening is at your leisure, with the morning finding you waking up right in the centre of the city. You'll enjoy the sunrise from a new perspective, and see the city come alive as the commuters make their way into town.
We pack up camp and head back to Circular Quay at approximately 10.30am and finish back at the Sydney Urban Adventures office. If you'd prefer not to end the fun so soon, you are welcome to stay on the island as long as you like.
