Explore the winding lanes, convict-built cottages and cobblestone streets that characterise Sydney's most historic area.  Combine this fascinating history with some of Sydney's favourite pubs for a very unique walking tour.  Taste a selection of Australian beers and find your own 'local' to return to.  Learn about the long and fascinating history of this once squalid and shady area; and get a recommendation for a great pub dinner after the tour. This tour is a unique and rewarding way to combine Australia's early european history with some of Sydney's favourite pubs.

Itinerary

Get a taste of Sydney's history in one of it's most interesting and vivacious precincts - The Rocks.  Try the local brew and visit some of the city's most atmospheric pubs as your wind your way through convict-built lanes and cobblestone alleys.

The Rocks is the place of Sydney's first European settlement and it has evolved dramaticaly from its crowded, convict beginnings - allthough traces of these notorious past times do still exist.  Once the home of sailors, whalers and questionable figures, the Rocks is now one of the city's last remaining historical centres and its labyrinth of alleys are best explored on foot.  Throughout time, the pubs were always the most important meeting places in the Rocks and they still fulfill this role.

Meet your local guide at Cadman's Cottage, Sydney's oldest house, and commence your tour as you hear stories of the locals, past and present.  Explore this colourful area and stop off for a drink at three wonderful pubs along the way.

Food is not included on this tour but your guide will happily recommend a great pub for dinner afterwards.

Our Local Connection

Most of our team have grown up in Sydney; those who didn't moved here because of the amazing lifestyle this city offers.  If you are into the outdoor life then this is one of the best places in the world to live. Sydney has stunning beaches, national parks, mountains with awesome bushwalks 90 minutes away and of course, the amazing harbour. With the temperate maritime climate we enjoy here, every day on the harbour you will find people sailing, kayaking, swimming, fishing and even scuba diving.
